Comprehensive evaluations, therapy, parent coaching, and collaborative support for children with speech, language, feeding, and orofacial myofunctional needs.
About Elyssa
Hi, I'm Elyssa, founder of CommuniKaden Kids! I'm a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist providing evaluations and therapy for children with speech, language, feeding, and orofacial myofunctional disorders throughout Westchester County, New York, and Fairfield County, Connecticut.

I earned my bachelor's degrees in Linguistics and Psychology from the University of Michigan and my master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Hunter College. I am certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), hold a New York State Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) Professional Certificate, and am licensed to practice speech-language pathology in both New York and Connecticut.

I regularly pursue advanced training to ensure my clinical practice reflects current research and evolving clinical approaches. I am a PROMPT Certified (PC) clinician, Qualified Orofacial Myologist (QOM), and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC). I have also completed specialized training in Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson's Oral Placement Therapy (OPT), Edythe Strand's Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) for Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders through the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM) and Neo-Health Services, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).

Since 2015, I have conducted evaluations and delivered therapy across both school-based and private practice settings, addressing a wide range of speech, language, feeding, and orofacial myofunctional concerns. My areas of expertise include speech sound disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), motor speech disorders, dysarthria, and orofacial myofunctional disorders. I also have extensive experience working with receptive, expressive, and pragmatic language disorders, early language development, Auditory Processing Disorder, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).

I offer evaluations, therapy, parent coaching, school consultation, and professional education. Every treatment plan is thoughtfully designed to help children develop the skills they need while recognizing the important connection between communication and social, emotional, and academic development.
I believe children learn best when therapy is engaging, motivating, and enjoyable. I value a collaborative, team-based approach and work closely with families, educators, physicians, and other professionals so children can carry over what they learn in therapy to everyday life.

Helping children discover their voice and communicate more effectively is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. I look forward to working with your child to build the skills they need to succeed at home, school, and beyond.
